Default 06 Cadillac STS won't start!!!

Where is a nuetral safety switch located on an 2006 Cadillac STS. I just bought this car from and auction, there was no key. So I got one made, tried to crank and it says it's in as accessory mode then tells me to press break and push start button. When I do everything goes off for a few seconds and comes back lit up. Then it tells me to shift to park. I need help!! I read a lot of people online saying that it was their Neutal safety switch. Is it true??

The MLPS(manual lever position switch), or "internal mode switch" is internal to the trans...it's inside the trans pan. There have been issues with them. Really need someone to do a little deeper diagnosis on it before going too far. It could be something as simple as a cable adjustment.

REPLY: I had this exact issue on my 2008 STS. The actual issue was a simple fuse blown. It is under the back seat passenger side, marked as "crank run"
