Default 96 DeVille Rear Shocks

I have a new set of passive shocks for the rear, however the nut on top is so rusted I can't get it to move without the shaft turning also. What would you suggest, cut the old one away or what.

There should be 3 nuts to loosen on top i believe, if you can possibly post a pic so we can see what nut your are having problems with. other wise you could use a dremel and cut it off. just make sure you know the specs of the nut so you can get another one to replace it.

also spray penetrating oil, tap it with a small hammer and see if it lets you turn it.

Thanks Stomper,
How do you think an Air Chisel will do with that nut. I thought someone mentioned a nut splitter also?
