I have a 2003 CTS "Sport Luxury" that I've owned for about 3 years. I bought it bone stock and have left it alone since it's been in my possession. But, in true ex-racer fashion, its time to start tinkering with it.
I want to upgrade the brakes and suspension to basically a first gen V set up. I basically need to know what needs to be switched and if everything is bolt on? For example, I know the brakes are different and that my car has the fe1 suspension. Will the brembo brakes from the V's bolt right up to the brackets? Will the rotors fit, or are they larger diameter and need new brackets? Will fe3 struts bolt right in? As far as I can gather the control arms and all that are the same regardless of fe1, 2 or 3. Is this correct? Is there anything else I am missing? And finally where can I locate the strut assemblies for the swap? Im having difficulty finding new ones and do not want to swap in junk yard struts that may be already hosed.
