RE: Mr. President, Your car is ready
I read up on it, they built it on a GMC 2500 Topkick chassis, headlights are from an Escalade and grille is apparently from a DTS, tail end looked STS or DTS to me too. No details on engine but at 14,000 lbs. rumour is its a duramax 8.1 diesel V8.

Lot a Caddys in the parade today. I don't think Obama will ever settle for a Toyota limo. By the way, you could tell that the back end was STS design by the back up lights. Vice Pres Biden has the DTS style. Lookin good either way. Too bad the ripples in the sheet metal show up. I guess it's hard to get a ripple free appearance when you have six inch thick sheet metal.

Cadillac One !
It is completely fitted with military grade armor, 8 inches thick, a combination of steel, aluminum, titanium and ceramic which has been designed to shatter and stop any possible projectile aimed at the vehicle; the floor is made up of a five inch thick steel plate as a counter-measure for an explosive device placed underneath, while the armor-plated fuel tank is filled with special foam designed to prevent it from exploding even from a direct hit; the wheels are fitted with run flat tires, and all windows are bullet proof thick glass. Also includes self-defense items such as tear gas cannons, pump-action shotguns and even an on-board supply of the president’s blood type.
The current presidential limousine entered service on the morning of January 20, 2009, upon the inauguration of Barack Obama. According to GM, the manufacturer, Cadillac One, the "2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine" is the first not to carry a specific model name.
The car can seat seven people, including the president. The front seats two, and includes a console-mounted communications center. The Secret Service refers to the heavily-armored vehicle as "the beast".
Since 2001, when the president travels out of town, his motorcade has consisted of about 35 vehicles.
It is rumored that it is powered by a 454 cubic inch (7.4 liter) Chevrolet V-8 Engine mated to a 4L80E 4 speed automatic transmission.
Bomb Jammer â„¢ Technology is also rumored to be part of its arsenal. IED Jammer Technology can neutralize / prevent deadly criminal acts such as radio controlled Car Bombings, Assassinations, Terrorism, etc. Presenting new and advanced Bomb Jammer â„¢, radio transmission, & rf detection technology from Homeland Security Strategies. Bomb Jammers blanket areas with radio interference, neutralizing radio controlled improvised explosive devices or RCIEDs. They defend the users from criminal acts such as car bombings, assassinations, border control and check point bombings, roadside bombs, and other forms of terrorism. The Bomb Jammer covers frequencies beyond cell phone jammers and cell phone jammer technology in order to combat all rf threats, not just cellular activated weapons.
The cost is .. .. .. $300K ? $3M ?

Lots of speculation on the engine Stealth, I heard Duramax 8.1, you suggest 454 which I think the Bush and Clinton one's had, graphic says 6.5 V8 diesel. In any case a heathy dose of torque to move Mr. President around!
Check out this link, adds new meaning to riding shotgun!

you can be sure that is one of the options, specially when traveling in foreign soil.
and with all that technology, we still dont have a safe guard against flying shoes?
December 15, 2008Bush on flying shoes: I don't know what his beef is'
"Bush's visit to Iraq on was supposed to be a celebration of the signing of an agreement that calls for U.S. forces to leave Iraq by December 2011. He received a formal arrival ceremony in Baghdad, a sign of security gains in the country, but the trip was marred by an Iraqi journalist who threw not one, but two shoes at Bush, barely missing the president's head."
