Default trouble code help

Have recently pulled trouble code 30 and 38 on my 1981 Fleetwood Brougham and can't find a thing in my repair manual that pertains to these numbers. Any help would be appreciated, I have the 6.0l engine and it's RWD.

what else is happening?
are you getting an rpm surge or other symptoms?

Thanks for the codes Katzman I did suspect the position sensor as I have adjusted it before and not sure if it is just right yet. In response to Stealth, the only thing that seems to be affected is the idle, it seems too low when cold and a bit too high when the engine is hot. The service engine light is sometimes on and sometimes off. Map Open Sensor Circuit is that a replacement issue???

I believe that MAT is Manifold Air Temperature sensor. Now you've got the6.0 lwhich I have not seen in a long time but on newer cars this is a little probe in the air duct leading to cleaner assembly. Not sure where this would be on your torque monster but it must be in either the snorkle or assembly. It is probably a grey or black connector going into the assembly.

Hey Katzman: Found the Mat and Map sensors, they are both attached together to a metal bracket right near the ECM which is behind the glove box. They both look identical but the numbers are one off each other 832 and 833. Should there be a vac. line on the Mat sensor, the vac port is bare and open where as the Map sensor has the vac. line attached.

Back up the Caddy: The Baro sensor is near the Map sensor and this is the one that has the bare vac. port so sorry for the confusion. I will check the Mat. sensor location and see where it's at . Thanks for the help.

I think on the air cleaner, I am envisioning a wire harness going to a grey connector.
