Default Dtc u1000

I have a 2003 Deville. Recently the Engine light has been illuminated. Running through the codes I am noting U1000 Current.

Also, while running through the codes I am noting "No MSM data"

Please help.

I know it is a communications issue. Are these two items related?

Default msm module

Where is the MSM module.

How do I troubleshoot a comm issue. Should I just replace the module.

Default IPC U1000 code

My 2003 SLS runs great (66k miles) but it failed the Indiana Emissions testing due to lack of communication and not real emissions. I reset all the codes and the only code I get is IPC 1000 Current. Previously I had a crankshaft sensor velocity "B" (I think it was a 306) that had the check engine lite on but they both cleared on the reset. I get the IPC 1000 whether the engine is running or not. Where is the IPC? and what should I check for. Thanks
