I am having problems with my 1996 seville sls/...the blower motor wont come on. i have tried several trouble shooting steps

checked all fuses, checked voltage at plug (red has 12-13 volts, middle .020 with inside on high drops to about .010 on low, and ground seems to be fine) replaced a/c comp relay and inadverdent power relay.

i thought it was the blower motor...i hooked a new one up outside the auto part store and it did not come on....

is it possible the motor wont work outside of the housing
or the new aftermarket motor is bad

or maybe its not the blower motor?..

How can i test the motor or hot wire it to see if that is the problem..

i have checked the female plug and it seems fine..i did clean the contacts best i could but it did not help...i even tried adding a ground wire to the connector as i have read a bad ground could be the problem

Possible blower resistor.

 

thanks for the reply. i replaced the blower motor yesterday and solved all the problems. when i tested the blower at the parts store it must have been a factory defect (bad blower) i went to another store tried the blower and it came right on. the blower resistor is built in the blower motor...thanks for responding

 

I have a 1996 Seville. Love the car but the AC blower is doing strange things. When the car has been sitting for a few hours, blower operates normally. If I turn the car off and try to use the AC again in 15 or 20 minutes, the blower comes on for 5 to 30 seconds and shuts off. Blower will not work in either AC On mode or AC off mode but all indicators suggest blower should be running. There are no AC faults showing in memory. Fuses & relays have been replaced.
