Default 93 deville transmission slip? please help

I just purchased a 93 sedan deville with a 4.9. ok so heres the prob. when i put the car in drive it doesnt go.I have to rev it up until it kicks in and jerks into gear and then i can go forward.Same thing applies when i try to go in reverse. Sometimes i wont even have to rev it up. It will just work regular. I just purchased this vehicle from an auction so i dont know its history to much. I already change the tranny filter and put in the new 6.5 quarts of tranny fluid. I'm thinking its the torque converter but just thought i get a second opinion before i start the process, thanks.

I also forgot to mention i get a ecm code of 91=park neutral position switch or circuit fault. Would it make a difference if i change the pnp switch. The car doesnt start in any other gear except park. However when i put the car in drive or reverse it show a different gear on the dash. For example ill be in drive andthe needle will point atneutral. Does my car have a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid? and where can i find it? please help, thanks.

I doubt it is a torque converter problem.
It's been awhile since i have opened up a 4t60 but IIRC a worn direct clutch seems to stick in my mind for your symptoms.
