Default 1985 Seville: engine

I have a 1985 Seville with 68,000 miles, this car is clean, it belongs to my mother in law and she is wanting me to sell it for her. I have been having trouble doing that because everyone is telling me they had problems with this 4.1 engine. I have paperwork showing the motor was replace at 30,200 miles back in Aug. of 1990, so the motor only has less than 38,000 miles on it. My question is when they rplaced the motor would they have replace it with the same type of motor?? Is there away to find out what motor they put in here when they replace it??

No body has a answer for the above??

if it was done at a gm dealer under warranty yes same type of engine.
other then that you have to get the engine number and check that.

Can you tell me if the issues were resolved by 1990 on these engines?? I believe the main issues was the intake manifold gaskets would leak, causing damage to the rest of the internal parts.
