1990 El Dorado - Cadillac Forum

My wife just purchased a 1990 Eldorado with the 4.5 Litre engine, has 100k on it, Sounds like it has a full Blower set up on it when you floor it and I notice the plastic intake piece is missing to the aircleaner front, the Transmission also downshifts very hard from second to first gear,

is car worth putting any money into? has a new paint job and looks nice, supposedly has a new water pump but water temp got to 224 degree before the fan even started and then it ran slowly,

My father a Chevy mechanic in the 60;s before opening his own machine shop hates Caddies,

and we have two Jaguars and two BMWs,

I will be reading posts too to catch up on things,

someone likely removed that front part to get more air into the engine, and with something like that, it will make more intake noise...as for the tranny...have you checked the fluid?
