1970 coupe deville Alternator or generator

my 1970 coupe deville generator light is comin on?

Does this car have an alternator or generator?

Somebody help me

Hey G: I think that GM started using the Alterators in 1973 so if yours is a 1970 then you will most likely be the generator..............................
