Default 02 Deville cuts off when idling

AAhhh, where to start....Well I just bought a 2002 Deville DHS Northstar with 79,600 miles on it. I got it home with no problems(FL to GA), and a couple of days later I got a service electrical and Service engine soon light. The car also started cutting off on me during idle (every other day)or just getting ready to leave idle. It starts right back up as though it never happened. Took the car in and only code found was a park lights error(they worked fine though). I have had the fuel system cleaned and serviced as well. I don't want to start replacing parts without having a clue as to what the real problem is. Also, not sure if this matters but my rpm is running at about 650 during idle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Here is the code I got....IPM B0429 Current. Looked this up and it was Temp control #3 Rear Circuit Range Performance. No other codes, so I am at a loss.

B0429 has to do with ambient control of the cabin, A/C cold/heat.
That cant be the cut out problem.

Clear the codes and pull codes when it cuts out. did you do that?

BTW, #1 suspect is the coil pack.
Did you take the car through a car wash? rain? engine detail?

I did clear out all codes, and when it cut off on me at a stop light I checked the codes. Luckily no one was behind me.[sm=smiley36.gif] I do run the car through the car wash though, but no engine detail. I suspect that the dealer had that done, as the engine looked as though I could have eaten off of it.

Well there are a few things that can cause an engine start the stop condition. As Stomp says number one on my list is electrical:

1. Loose or faulty electrical conections at coil pack or alternator or dampness or faultyignition parts.(wires, plugs, coil)
2. poor fuel delivery to injector rail, could be clogged fuel filter.
3. vac*** leaks in gaskets between intake plenum and throttle body
4. restricted exhaust system, most likely a catalytic converter clogged.

650 rpm at idle iin Park is a bit low, should be 650 in gear with brake on, so another possible cause could be IAC, idle air control valve. You should also check air filter.

Without seeing your car I tend to go with #1 on the list as most likely cause.

I took the car to the dealership, and was told that my fuel pump assy needs to be replaced. The fuel pump sending unit isn't sending the correct amount of pressure?
