2000 SLS won't start at times
Purchased a used 2000 SLS. At non-specific times, the car will not start. The security light can either be on, off or flashing. The engine will not turn or engage. After locking/unlocking the car, removing/replacing the key in the ignition, repeating this numerous times the car will finally decide to start...sometimes taking 30minutes or so to finally get the car to start. I took it to a dealer who said nothing was showing up on the diagnostics. He also said that the security system could not be disabled or bypassed. On a side note and possibly unrelated, the transmission will occasionally shift hard. Also at times, the park brake cannot be engaged/set until the car is turned off and it will release itself when the keys are put in the ignition rather than when the car is put into gear. Again, don't know if those are possibly related whatsoever, but wanted to put it out there. Trying to determine possible causes for the starting problem and if there is any way to bypass/disable the security system altogether. Thanks!!

From what I can see, you may well have a neutral safety switch problem...that could possibly explain ALL of your issues....
