1988 Black Allante - Engine Toast, Parts for sale
I changed the intake gasket on my 1988 Saturday and when I added coolant my crankcase filled with coolant. Engine is toast!
I would love to sell the car in one piece so make me a reasonable offer. I understand that I will get more money by parting it out. Rear bumber lightly scuffed as well as a very small dent in the chrome insert of the front bumper. ABSOLUTELY NO DENTS in any of the panels. It is a 1988 with original paint. The interior is great also.
Car is in lower central Michigan and rather than scrap, I would like the opportunity to keep the dream alive!

You may want to consider a salvage Allante engine .. they are pretty worthless, often available for around $300 .. most of the cost would be shipping and installation ...
unless YOU part the car, you be lucky to get $1000 .. parting it can bring you upwards of $4000 if the prime parts are in nice condition ...

Stomper - Understand that I may be able to find a used engine, but what are the odds that a used 4100 that I fine is actually "good?" I will not be able to know for sure until I install it and fill it with coolant and oil.
Actually for a 1988 the car is in excellent shape, I really do not want to "Part it out" and would hope someone, with more time, would purchase the car complete and actually try to find a "Good" used engine.
If anyone has a lead on a potential "Good" used engine I would appreciate you passing it on just in case I am missing a potential opportunity to keep the dream alive.
