Trunk light problem...what do you think?
And, yes, the bulb is good and there's continuity between the orange wire and the socket AND continuity between the socket and the ground on the trunk lid.
I've not pulled the entire harness to pin it out yet. Finally got a replacement flipper switch for the motor and now the trunk pull down works every time but now the bulb is not illuminating.
I can see no way they are related and the only fuse is #26 for the light and the air shocks which are disabled (no longer on the car). Fuse is good. The factory service manual is useless for stuff like this it seems.
It's taken two years to get the trunk pull down straightened out since the previous owner cut the lid harness at the hinge plug. The trunk lid harness is new.
I'm asking here before I start with the hinge wiring harness once again. It's a '96 Brougham and all other functions, like the tag lock, work fine.
Thanks for any suggestions/insight...
