Default Pics of my 86 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance

Here is my Fleetwood. I got this car on a whim a couple of years ago. The owner was an elderly friend f the Family. The car was her husbands baby, he passed on in 2000 and tha car pretty much sat up untill I got it in 06. the owner wouldn't sell it for Fear of it going to someone who would "customize" it ( read trash it) in a way tshe felt wasn't befitting a car of this caliber. Everyone in my family knew I was a Cad fanaic and always kept my cars stock, so she invited me to come see it. The car has about 145000 miles on it, and I really don't drive it much.. in the 2 years I've had it, I've put maybe 3000 miles on it. I've half heartedly had it for sale for the past few months, but I've kept it for the same reason the original owner did.. each time folks came by who wanted it, they made it clear that they were just looking for a big car to use as a beater or to "alter".. This one has a rare D'elegance cloth interior in wonderful shape, I really hate to see it ruined.. It is the reason I bought it in the first place

Thanks,
Matt

Matt,
thats one clean car.
Don't let it fall in the wrong hands.

I was in Chgo last week visiting family.
One of these caddys drove past me and the music
mademy windows shake.
All I could do was shake my head and think
what a waste!

I like cars with mods but every now and then you come across something that should be left alone. What a classic car and the interior should not be modified in my opinion. If I had her, I'd be puttin some miles on her. Good luck with her.

Matt,

I bet you can drop a 1,500 Watt stereo in the trunk without ever drilling a hole and still have plenty of space for whatever. Very well kept car.

can you give us a close shot of the wire wheels?

Hey Matt: Good to see that you posted some pics for the guys to see. Stealth was mentioning some pictures of the spoked wheel covers, which brought to mind the experience I had taking these babies apart and polishing all the pieces. Each wheel cover has 77 pieces and was a lot of fun to lace back together. The spokes were working loose and in the process of putting them back together I figured out how to tighten them all back up again. Don't think I want to do it again any time soon. Again nice ride, and do take care of her.

I wonder if a bike shop with lots of experience can do it for little $$$.

Funny you mention the wire wheels, mine are just covers, and they are the newer style. I've had wire covers on most of my rear wheel drive Caddys over the years, and i love them. but the ones from cars made before roughly 1985 are much heavier, a slightly larger center portion and its all chromed, with a jewel cut raised crest and wreath. This newer version is a lightweigt alumnum, and the center piece is plastic.. and I'm not especilly fond of the "color" insert.. I will be re-doing my pin stripe in a red color to coordinate better with this insert, because I like to keep my cars "year" appropriate
Here's the newercover on my Fleetwood
And here's one from the older cars..In this case an 83 Fleetwood brougham.

These pics were taken a few months ago, and since that time, I have secured original D'Elegance factory floormats for the front, and I have polished the side marker lights, so they aren't as cloudy as they appear in that wheel cover photo. I also replaced my thrashed drivers door arm rest with a slavaged one from an 83 Fleetwood that was perfect, as well as a new OEM power antenna.
