New guy here.
Hey everybody,I just inherited a 1985 Cadi fleetwood brougham from my grandpa. As far as I can tell the car runs alright. The brakes need to be bled and there are some cosmetic issues to deal with but it looks pretty solid. Ive heard that these cars have engine issues though is the 4100 all aluminum V-8 a P.O.S or not? This is the first Cadi Ive ever owned and would like to know more about them. Thanks, Shannon

Welcome. Fleetwoods when in very good or better condition are excellent cruisers. The under powered HT4100 leaves something to be desired. Many of the trim parts if broken are hard to find and can be pricey. Get a factory shop manual even if you don't plan to work on car yourself. Have it availible if car needs repaired, so tech has info if necessary. It will lessen the chance of making costly mistakes while car is being worked on. It wont make any differenece who broke the part, if you can't find replacement. If taking car to shop make sure you always get book back. I suggest you find out what shops in your area can work on car before you have problem. 80's DFI Cadillacs systems operate differently than other GM cars. So find a place or tech in your area who has experience ahead of time. Lastly if you have questions post them, they will likely be answered.
