Get door handles here for less than $20


Cadillac Escalade 2007 Door Handle Rear Driver Side | U.S. Auto Parts

 

my front driver side and passenger side handles broke off. my dealer would not help at all. every time i take it there they charge me over 400 for anything.. can any0ne help

 

All my door handles on my 2010 Escalade are loose. The rear R-door handle is broken. What is the reason for this? Also who much will it cost me to get it fix? will the dealership charge me a arm and a leg to fix it.

The door handles, like many other parts on the escalade, are bad. They are made of plastic and are held on by two screws. They are pretty easy to replace and are readily available on eBay for around $20-30 a piece. At the stealer ship they will charge about $200 per door. You can do them all for around 100. If you decide to do them i can walk you through it as I have replaced many. The reason they break is that the two screws go into plastic wells on the handle. If a door handle is frozen in the winter or the door is still locked and you pull on the handle with a little more than normal force, the well that the screw is in breaks. For future reference tell people entering to make sure the door is unlocked before pulling on the handle. Or be real quick with the remote.
I'm sure you will remember pulling on the door handle while locked and you thought it was unlocked and it snapped back when you pulled. That's probably when it broke. They don't get loose. They just break. Crappy design. I hope this helps.

I don't know if this forum is still monitored, but, I have a 2007 EXT and I have had the door handles replaced twice and now all except the driver's side need to be replaced again. What id the deal with these faulty handles? I have been a loyal Cadillac driver FOREVER, my father raised me in Cadillacs and never have I encounter this issue before. The dealership in Columbia, SC charged me over $100 for each handle and I just don't understand why they are broken again!!!! This really angers me!!! 3 broken door handles is just not the image that a Cadillac driver wants to portray!

 

Hi, I new to this forum, but i also experience the faulty doir handles. I currently have 2 that need to be replaced on my 07 escalade. I contacted the Cadillac dealetship to check to see if there was a recall. To my surprise there wasnt. I am totally frustrated with this customer service. They were not understanding at all. They only wanted to xharge me 300 to replace the faulty door handles that i feel should have a recall based ulon my research, this is a very common thing. My next move is to contact the president of Cadillac and voice my concerns
