I have a 2002 ESC. Intermittently the fuel door and trunk (fuel door more often) will pop open when I turn the key over. It does not happen every time and I can't figure out how or why. I have read on previous posts where this happens if the voltage is low when I start the car. If that is the case, how do I fix this? If there is some other reason, how do I fix it. It is beginning to annoy me. Thanks.

 

IF it is happening due to a low voltage situation when starting, your battery may be on it's last leg. Might be worth having it load tested.
Normally, if the batt voltage gets that low during cranking, it will set codes in most of the on-board computer systems. Try having it scanned somewhere(Autozone does it for free), and see if there are any "System Voltage Low" codes anywhere.
