radio comes on by itself, windows also work at this time. was standing outside car with door open security flasher on dash was blinking, no key in ignition, radio came on and security stopped flashing. seems to be connected to ignition switch as radio went off momentarily went i inserted key and turned key back and forth. had to pull body #3 fuse to stop radio.

reference E-Ghost post. 1st thing done by dealer (advised by GM tech support) was to change ignition switch.
however, wasnt the problem with my '99 sts, but i think it is a good place to start for what your posting.

Lived the first part of it's life on the north coast in Fort Bragg, CA. Picked it up in July 06 with only 13,000 miles on it. Drove it back to NH, not really that wet around here. Today, when I plugged in the 50 amp body #3 fuse the engine bumped over, when I turned the key to the on position the engine turned over and started. I called the dealer to ask him about this latest symptom, he said it could be the ignition switch or some computer module, says he needs to see it again to try to figure out whats going on. I'm afraid to try to change the ignition switch myself, he said it would be about $350 if that's what's wrong. thanks curt

 

just got the car back, seems ok so far, they replaced ignition/starter relay and radio relay, cleaned and tightened terminals
