Default will 93 Deville run with theft deterent module unplugged

The security light on the dash is staying on and draining the battery. I unplugged the theft deterrent module (pn 16158276) and the light goes out and the battery now holds it's charge. The car starts fine with it unplugged but didn't know if it would stop running somewhere down the road so didn't take for a drive. Any thoughts?

yes module is for content or alarm vs pass key which is for starting. Light will be on if tamper switches on lock door lock cylinders are loose or damaged or if dome lamps are shorted on.

Thank you slowroll. That seemed logical but needed some reassurance before taking it out for a drive. Also going to bypass the pass key module. thanks again!

I believe this module is located in the trunk? Can you tell me exactly where?
