What year of DeVille?
Hello, first time member, long time GM owner. I'm currently looking for a used Cadillac Deville (between 2000-2004) and I've been reading some really bad information on the DeVille. However, having owned GM vehicles, I'm aware of some of the quality issues. My Chev Silverado was a good pick-up and wished I would have kept it. Anyway, what year do you recommend? Also, do you prefer the DTS or DHS model? I've been looking at a 2002 with 79,000 miles super clean, black leather interior. Just a great car, but.....

Yeah, I've heard that they have been problematic. Engine leaks, window regulators, and electrical. They are really nice cars, though. I can't help but want one, but I really don't want to start throwing a bunch of money in a Cadillac.

i guess you are for sure to hear the bad first... in any case there are alot more owners that can not say one bad thing about their Deville. shop around for the right one, you'll find it. try and find one with service records, etc. make sure coolant has been changed, and regular service has been done...... i like them all in that range, and wouldn't vault any one in those years..... if you find the right one. ....... oh DTS preferred...IMO

I own a 2002 cadillac deville, i bought it in 2006 with 31000 miles, it has 98000 now , it was more comfortable than the chrysler 300, I get 28 mpg on the highway and well, less in the cit,. it has the northstar v8 and I can't report any problems as of yet.

Hi All,
Look at any car brand specific forum site and you will see a lot of "problems" with "this or that car" posts. From corvettes to Honda civics. Any brand, any model.
I had a 2000 Deville that went well over 130k with no issues. The only thing that stopped working was the right rear window in 2005. I pulled the door panel and found a loose connection. However, I am fussy about changing the fluids and and general maintenance. Oil every 3k, Trans and coolant every 50k. Tires rotated every 5k, etc.
I don't baby the car but I don't beat on it either. I now have an 04 that I bought with mid 30k on it last year. Runs like a champ.
BTW I like the DTS version, the buckets and dash look better than the bench. Good luck Deville hunting.
