Default Climate control

Hey guys. Raise your hand if you hate Cadillacs attempt at climate control. No matter what I do, I cant get the air to blow out of the front vents (to my face), it only comes out of defrost and some on the floor I think. Whats the deal?

Also, I'm getting 27 mpg on my '93 with a 4.9l(yes, I checked it mathimaticaly). Anybody else have any good milage reports?

IF I was getting 27 mpg, I be smiling every minute of the day.

Climate control - doesnt you car have a adjustment for air flow going "normal" and then a slide for a combo of "down and up" .. up means the vents, down means the floors. try taking it out of the "normal" and see what it does as you slide the lever around.

When temp is set at 60 where does air blow out? Also check for vacuum leaks near vac. reservior on firewall.

No kidding! What is the deal with Cadillac's climate controls??? I'm having similar issues with my 1988 Brougham.

Love Cadillacs, but the worst climate control in the world. Mine comes on, but goes right back off. Had an 89 Brougham, same thing worked when it wanted to. Mostly blowing from floor.

You have a loss of vacuum. When that happens its designed like many other cars to blow from defrost.

If your system is working correctly, you should have no problem getting it to blow out the dash vents. My 98 blows out the dash vents most of the time. Only when it gets cold outside does it shut off the dash vents and then it blows out the floor vents. I have to push the defrost button to get anything to come out of the defrost vents.
