Oil change 9 qts. ?
The car is a 95 DeVille Concours
Today we had the third oil change since owning the car. Previously the shops used 7.5 quarts but today when I paid the invoice this shop said you owe for 9 quarts of oil. Surprised to say the least because I thought my Jag at 8 quarts was a thirsty thing.
When I got home I looked at previous invoices (1 from today's shop and 1 from another shop). The last time we were at today's shop, th invoice from that time said 6 quarts (hm?). The other previous shop said 7.5 quarts.
My Alldata account says that with new a new filter, it should take 7.5 quarts.
I would rather run a bit low than over fill the oil. The seals on this car are in very good shape (no oil drips) and I don't want the extra pressure of too much oil.
The question is this, does the Notrhstar engine take 7.5 or 9 quarts.
