My 2003 CTS turns over but does not start.
I actually just drove it a few hours ago. i went out to tried to start it and nothing, it almost seems like it is out of gas but I just filled it up 2 days ago. It has about 55,000 miles on it.. Any ideas? Thanks

Hello Davekivi,
It sounds like your battery connecter could be loose or might have a build up on them. Does the car try to turn over or does it just not have power? If the car sounds like it doesn't want to turn over then it could be a bad distributor cap.

RE: My 2003 CTS turns over but does not start.
Had a jeep that had similar problems. It would crank but wouldnt fire until about 5 min of cranking. I found out that the computer stopped sending signal to the fuel pump ( I found this out after pulling everything related to the fuel pump and checking every inch of wire) Its probably not likely but might be something to check.

I have my son Cadillac 2003 CTS with the same problem. Car crank but WON'T START, battery is good and i have also a battery charger in starter position. I have replaced the Crank Sensor, I have replaced the Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, also i do replaced all spark plugs and nothing... all the same. Any idea about what can be the problem?

2006 2.8 it has had this issue before. In the past it's been extreme flooding and has started after a while. New plugs and crank sensor. Old plugs were worn. Timing belt intact but don't know if that the issue. Fuel pump is good. Last time this happened I used starting fluid just to see if I could get it going and after 3 days it started and ran about a month. Now it acts like it is trying to fire but no luck. Going to pull the fuel filter and make sure that fuel is getting through. Other than that I don't know.

Crankshaft position sensors! have you checked them or replaced them? how about the cam sensors? That's what I would be looking at if the Fuel system is good, ie... good fuel pressure at the fuel rail. That would be a start... no pun intended.
