Default 03 CTS 3.2 V6 - Can't get the trans cooler lines back into radiator.

I have a mechanic working on my car however they're taking an extending amount of time of replacing a busted radiator because they tell me they cannot get the transmission cooler lines back into the radiator. I know what a transmission cooler is but I can't seem to understand why the lines wouldn't just fit right back? Is there anything special that needs to be done?
