Default Power Train Control Module

I have a 1996 Coup DeVille northstar engine,I was trying to fix problems with the 20 pin connector for P codes connected to the transmission and I pulled it apart with the key on, oops? I did fix the P codes, but, a new problem came up on dashboard, ( Electrical System Failure ) I re-set the codes twice, but it won't go away, Looks like I goofed up again ? I think I must have given the Module a SPIKE and now it keeps sending out this new problem. Is their a test for this Module ? or do I just bite the bullet and re-place it ? Can't be cheap to replace Any help will be well taken.
