LS1 Swap?
#15
you really should have started a new thread. There are several universal wiring harnesses both GM and aftermarket available depending on what whether using cable or electric throttle body. You should swap to electric transmission at the same time. The 4L60e is about the same length as the T400 you have now. You could repurpose existing warning light or add small LED.

64 Deville LS1
Anybody do a LS1 swap into a older Caddy? I'm thinking about ditching the 472 in my 70 Coupe deVille for a LS engine, not sure which one, but it will be computer controlled & fuel injected with a 4L60E or 4L80E. I'll just pick up an engine cover out of a CTS so I can have a Cadillac engine cover. I'm also thinking about building a Ford 9" so I can change my gear ratio & have a rear end that I can actually find parts for. I'm already gonna raise the transmission & drive shaft tunnel so the higher pinion won't be an issue for me.

Any updates on LS swaps ?
I have a 1968 Convertible and am thinking about doing a LS swap. Looking at getting a 6.0 LS and rebuilding it. I just cruise in the car so I don't have plans of any power adders or high horsepower. The vehicle is lowered and maybe some day I will install an air bag system. If I got with air bags I would like to be able to lay it down when parked. I have a 5.3 in my 2004 suburban and that seems to power it just fine so a 6.0 should be plenty for my caddy.
Will a 4L60E fit in a 68 caddy?
