Airport security is not forced to deal with a new threat:
Al Queda's Anal Bomb - the Trojan bomber
A terrorist bomber in Saudi Arabia detonated an explosive device concealed in his anal cavity. The terrorist, a wanted al-Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsular, pretended to renounce terrorism and repent in order to get close to Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, Saudi Arabia's deputy interior minister who leads the kingdom's counter-terrorism campaign. In the attack on August 28, the bomber obliterated himself but the prince survived shaken but unharmed.
Are we now looking a cavity searches to board a plane ?
Or will it be a command to: "dog, sniff crotch!"
Do we laugh or do we cry?
This is the nightmare scenario," said Chris Yates, an aviation security consultant.
On a plane at altitude, the effects of such a bomb could be catastrophic. And there is no current security system that could stop it.
"Absolutely nothing other than to require people to strip naked at the airport," said Yates.
