I know it can be done. My Allante has a cold start issue, and OK when warm. I want to go into the diagnosis to monitor the coolant sensor when cold. How exactly do I do it.
thanks

My Allante has a cold start issue, and OK when warm. I want to go into the diagnosis to monitor the coolant sensor when cold. How exactly do I do it. thanks mike i dont see what model year Allante we are talking about .. but for the 1987 to 1992, the following works: At the D.I.C., simultaneously press and hold OFF & WARM (red button) let her go through the codes when its all done it will say ECM? the two most important keys to know are: HI=YES LO=NO so at the ECM press YES, then at each data point press NO until your reach COOLANT TEMP which is about 21 data points into the ECM data. easy .. really easy .. once you know the lingo. once you understand that, you will find more info on your car that you every knew existed ... sounds like you may have a bad coolant sensor ... consider getting a diagnostic manual $10 and also an FSM $30 http://cgi.ebay.com/1987-1993-Allante-Pocket-Diagnostic-Manual-Free-Ship_W0QQitemZ260357060299QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotor s_Manuals_Literature?hash=item260357060299&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262 . |
