The current M5 is a mess. Even hardcore BMW fans will tell you that (myself included). It's outrageously complicated, the SMG transmission is a joke, and the fit n finish isn't great. (Never has been on the current 5-series platform). The CTS-v needs to get into more people's hands. I saw one two days ago and it looked fantastic. A few more fanboys and this car could be a game-changer for Cadillac.
