Does or has anyone lived on a boat? Excluding military situation. Something I ponder from time to time.

yes .. once on the Sacramento Delta, another time in the US Virgin Islands ...
some advantages, some disadvantages .. the type of social circles is really important and can make or break the experience. Thing is, you can untie the boat and move easily without a U-HAUL.

my biggest challenge was no garage or work shop to work on the cars.
but ..
i often dream of some day returning to that life, when the kids grow and leave, and I trade the cars for a Vespa.

did that for three summers (7 months a year) back some years ago... only went to the house to wash cloths, etc. at that time didnt miss the at home stuff, yard, upkeep, and all that stuff. best time of my life... then the children started coming..... dang!
i too have dreams of that type of retirement. someday
