Hi everyone. I have been in the back of the room reading and learning from all of the more experienced Cadilacers' out there. Now its time for me to ask some questions. I have a 79 CDV (Coup DeVille... some1 asked me what CDV stood for) :eek: and I have a pair of rear disk brakes calipers from a 79 Seville. First, can I convert my 79 CDV drum to disk with the 79 Seville calipers and if so how much work will it take to get them to work properly. I also have the caliper brackets from the Seville. I haven't done any work as of yet, just trying to get as much info before I get in to deep! Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Converting to 4 wheel disc will require all the brackets and brake cables, you will need master cylinder and combination block for a 4 wheel disc 1979 Fleetwood. If you could find one in a salvage yard you may find everything you need.

Thanks slowroll. I figured that it would be a fairly simple conversion since they are the same years. In my research I have been seeing concerns about axle play due to the spacing of the back plate, but they where mainly in truck conversions. Does anyone know what the measurement is of allowable play in the axle or is it a concern that I have to deal with?
