Another issue that started recently on our 98 STS is the mirrors will move on their own. Many times when I go to back up the pass side door mirror will tip down. Sometimes the driver side mirror will move out of adjustment on its own as well. This started just out of the blue. Does anyone have an idea as to why this happens?

some cars have this feature to aide in parking .. i have no idea when that feature started.
is yours a new happening issue? does it go back up when you are done backing up?

This "moving mirror's" thing is something that start recently. My wife and I each have our memory settings and this issue go on in either memory setting. The pass mirror generally will tilt down. You can move it back up and a bit later it is down again. The driver mirror is less predictable and will sometimes turn out, away from the car.
