The column has to be removed from the car for replacement. sneakie1018 09-27-2006, 11:39 AM check your OBD2 system for the code sounds like it could be a speed sensor on one of your hubs they r known to go on cadillacs i have replaced 2 hubs on my seville in 6 months MGRXXX 10-29-2006, 05:20 PM ITS A SENSOR PROBLEM--OR AS IN MY CASE THE SENSOR IN THE HUB(BEHIND THE DISC BRAKES). ITS EXPENSIVE, SO GO TO A MECHANIC YOU KNOW AND HAVE HIM GET YOU AND INSTALL THE PART. THE HUB IS APPROX $350-500 PLUS LABOUR. fs98sim 11-14-2006, 12:22 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well today i got my car back from the dealer. I took it in for the Service Stability Sytem message. The code i pulled from the car was ABS C1287. That turned out to be a bad steering wheel position sensor. They replaced it and all is now good. Part cost about $85 labor $100. Hope this helps a bit. Mario 2002 STS 76000 miles |
