Another question, the car stalls a lot when letting off the throttle or when you come to a stop. the error code tells me MAP sensor. will replacing the MAP sensor solve the stalling problem?

Maybe.Sometimes codes are set when engine stalls but are not the cause of the engine quitting.

any other ideas why it might be stalling?

Check for carbon build up a thottle plate - butter fly where air cleaner hose attaches to engine.
