I have not owned an AWD vehicle prior to now. Is there anything that I need to know or ask for in particular when i take it in to be aligned? Thanks for your assistance in advance.

On your SRX - it takes a 4-wheel alignment, not just thrust. Cadillac has built in adjusters for Front Camber & Caster as well as Rear Camber and Toe - so they should really be able to dial in a perfect alignment for you.
