Today I hear that someone famous stated that if Cadillac had a 12 or 16 cyl car, he buy it by Monday.
The conversation was related to the weekend football game.

Anyone knows who?

Don't know who that was, however I'm sure you know the 16 has been dumped. Even if they reduced hp from 1000 to 750 hp they would be way outside the fuel constraints, according to the article I read.

They should take another look at a 12 cyl. Afterall both caddy and lincoln had them in the past. I still have a kb12 1932, runs pretty smoooth..............

I would love to see caddy (not lincoln) come out with a 12 cyl with about 600 to 650 hp.for an upscale deville.

i read in a magazine (Future technition...i think) today that cadillac concept engine the XV12 was put in the CIEN i'm not sure but they did say that in order to conserve that power the would have free running pistions that the compter would handle and knock it down to a 8cylander and at the flip of a button it would go ahead and kick on those other 4 cylanders and regain the power that it was supposed to run off of, complex stuff but i think it's deffinatly a possibilty and could be manufactured for the men and women who have the money to thorw in it and a question to all in this discusion>> doesn't mercedesalready have a v-12 engine in production???

Yeah check out the s600 amg 12 cyl, one of the hottest cars on the road today.

Also the sl600 has had a 12 cyl engine for a few years I believe.

yeah it does, both have the 6.0L V12. a 12 cylinder engine would be perfect for the 09 XLR-V, giving it performance similar to the viper, if not even better....

I dont see GM making money on the XLR regardless of what they do to it.

I heard a bit more about this—a possible V12 could be basically two 3.6 V6s welded together GMC Twin Six style, potentially being 7.2 liters and making 520-600 hp, depending on whether they fit it with the direct injection. Can't find a source though... That would make the Escalade a monster.
