I keep getting a P056 code but the service engine soon light does not stay on all the time. What should I do?

Hmmm.....that is the transmission input speed sensor. $20 part $2000 deep into the trans. It is NOT the VSS sensor.

You can check the transmission connections, also, note, that spark plug wires resting on any part of the engine harness can cause a false code.
