Meaning, how many miles did your Cadillac transmissions go before it wore or broke?
A minor repair, count it as still going.

Reset your count at zero with an overhaul, but not with a minor repair such as a solenoid R&R.

im at 93k and still going but thats not to say something could go wrong. I just recently changed fluid and used some lucas which will help the trany live a better life. (I almost sound like the infomercial with that old man) LOL. anyways did you have problems with you.

ive lost 2 1991 4T60E's around 120-138k miles im in the process of pulling the working car's transmission and having it rebuilt, the working car's transmission wouldnt have went except it had a cooler leak, the lines rusted through and broke off while i was driving so the transmission burned up, my other car's transmission still "works" technically you just have to shift it manually into first to get it to move

95 seville sts has 160,000 miles on it now. I am the 2nd owner not sure if the transmission has ever been serviced but the last owner took very good care of the vehicle. I have been thinking of pulling pan changing the filters and replacing only the fluid that came out but Im kind of afraid that may cause a problem. I think I will post a thread on that.

that should not be a problem .. but do not flush it, or all bets are off.
i be adding a bottle of LUCAS when you refill.

Ok thanks for reply. So pump out some fluid before adding the Lucas so not to overfill, add the Lucas and drive around for a week then drain, change filter, fluid and add another bottle of Lucas? I have seen the question asked before but no answer--About how many quarts total will come out when taking the pan off and the drain plug inside?

yes, i would and do all that.

as to how much fluid you need? well, when i do it i make sure i got a full case by my side and i have never needed more than that .. I say from 6 to 10 quarts?

Ive been reading about adding Lucas transmission fix. After reading many forums etc. I am kind of hesitant to add it to a transmission that is showing no problems. Anyone care to give more opinions on this? Like i said my transmission has 160,000 miles on it and is still working fine.

Um Yes would have to say that isnt safe at all. It could cause damage to the transmission seals and maybe the transmission itself eventually
