Stealth 09-18-2007, 09:18 AM Bill,
nice service you are providing.
I seem to remember putting one inside my Owner's Manual, but I better double chek.
I havent opened that manual, zip-locked and kept next to the spare, since the Factory Manuals arrived.
I would have to empty the trunk .. to lift the cover .. ...
thanks
foxpaws 09-18-2007, 10:51 AM The trunks in these things are huge for a convertible...
I first thought that it was so you could get 2 sets of clubs, and some suitcases too...
But, after spending too much time in the trunk I discovered something else...
It is a Caddy - who buys Caddy's - the mob - and why does the mob need big trunks? They need enough space so they can dispose of Vinny...
You can easily fit a body in there - I know - I fit with lots of extra room- maybe enough room for me and Vinny...:)

Stealth 09-18-2007, 11:56 AM did you ever think why it is sooooooooo plush back there?
pop the lid open straight up, toss a pillow and go camping .. under the stars.
you can even close the lid and drop the wall and now you are just like the sleeping berths
in a 18-wheeler ..
you just gotta rent the movie, "Terminal Velocity" .. gotta ...
cap4000 09-19-2007, 10:00 PM curious, what kind of diagnostic info is in this book ?
Stealth 10-03-2007, 09:21 AM When you open it, it gives you the error codes:
http://www.cadillacforum.com/m_11904/tm.htm
PLUS
it gives you DIAGNOSTIC TREES ..
The booklet comes is small and you can slip into your Owner's Manual.
a MUST item to have.
It does NOT include the sequence on RESET THE CODES .. for that, go to the link above.

Yes, I know it is years later, but per chance would the Vehicle Diagnostics System booklet still be available?

Good question, yeh it was a couple of years since I last ordered. Found two after searching after your question. Send $5 if interested ---address should be in the thread somewhere. You can still get these I believe from Helm.com -- 5 for ????? cheap plus shipping.
Can order more than 1 lot before shipping increases. Seems almost silly now but I guess I just got ticked when one member paid $82 on sleazebay for somrthing that was 'bout 4-5 dollars.
I sent out about 50 before it seemed like interest ended.
OldsD88 10-22-2009, 09:50 AM Bill,
Found the address. Hold one of them for me! The payment/address is on the way.
Glad I asked as I do see the booklet on ebay for $20. Thanks!
stomper 10-22-2009, 10:10 AM If Bill runs out, I also have a few of those diagnostic booklets.
When I got the 2nd Allante, I decided that I should have one in each car and one at home by the computer, so I ordered a pack.
You will also order an FSM, right? after the registration & the diag booklet, that FSM will be the most valuable item you get.
BTW, the contents of the booklet can also be found in the FSM and scans are also posted somewhere in this site.
in the mean time, these are the codes:

.
OldsD88 10-22-2009, 11:49 PM Yes, it is indeed my intent to get the FSM, as well as the Supplement on the Bosch ABS III system.
First, have to get the car! Will engage in that endeavor tomorrow.
stomper 10-23-2009, 08:17 AM BTW, you be well advised to learn how to test the ABS and perform the test on the car before you sign the contract of the new car.
if ever there was critical maintenance, this is it - the Bosch III - a system with awesome & unbelievable stopping power, but like any exotic system, special needs can and do arise.
I believe that this system sprouted from the Boeing fleet technology.
in its heyday, a Bosch III master cylinder commanded $3,500 .. now they are bargains, overhauls at only $1,000 or so. the ABS pumps about 1/2 of that ...

what is the going rate on those?
wcoates 10-24-2009, 08:01 AM just checked the Allante parts cabinet---have 4 of the brake supplement ---who knows why???!!!! would be glad to get you one at less than what this sells for. The $10.95 UPS shipping seems like a rip to me so I'd suggest USPS media mail. Like a slow boat from ??? but cheap.

OldsD88 10-24-2009, 08:13 AM Bill, appreciate the offer, but just purchased both the FSM and Brake Supplement off eBay for a total of $53, including shipping.
stomper 10-24-2009, 08:25 AM i thought the brake supplement was a dozen page (or so) booklet that sold for a fraction of that.

The brake supplement is a book the same dimensions as you FSM with I'm guessing 60-70 pages.
Dave
What year FSM did you buy? Assuming you are pretty well set on the year of car you'll buy!
