Hi'ya!
I've just come back here as I am working on an '88 Sedan Deville I picked up with sim-con top and blue leather on white. It has no pinstripping so I will be adding blue and red stripping -=KILLER, of course! ...and classic Rolls Royce style continental kit grille also going in. Would love to throw in a full-size GM sunroof as well, but afraid of cost for that mod idea, Still would consider a possibility.
My idea is that a pre Northstar...up to 1990 I imagine, Allante 4.5 V8 could be swapped with the same TurboHydromatic 440-T4 transmission transaxle... To try to get 200 horsepower from that Deville. The last of the downsized era and outside of the Brougham and limos, Caddy's biggest I think .:D
Initially the downsized cars hurt GM and Cadillac in the mid 1980s along with previous powerplant issues. I didn't have much difficulty with the HT4100 in my '84, but I have heard many gripes, not the least of which is lack of power for a large, heavy car.
