The Cadillac BLS is a compact executive car (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compact_executive_car) designed specifically for the European (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe) market by Cadillac (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac) .
The car is based on GM's Epsilon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GM_Epsilon_platform) architecture and is built in the same plant in Trollhättan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trollh%C3%A4ttan), Sweden (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden) that builds the Saab 9-3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_9-3) and the Saab 9-5 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_9-5).
Sales began on March 2006, with a station wagon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Station_wagon) joining the line for 2007. The BLS starts at approximately € 19,000 (roughly US$25,000).
Though originally designed for the European market, the BLS was introduced to the Arabian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabia), Mexican (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico), South African (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Africa), and South Korean (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Korea) markets for the 2007 model year.
Features A range of engines are available in the BLS, including two diesel engines, a 1.9L turbocharged four-cylinder and a 2.8L turbocharged V6.
