Bose Wiring Diagram, Removal of headunit, speakers, and CDM, Wiring kit to bypass Bose
Ok, I bet everyone that wants to replace their Bose headunit with an aftermarket headunit can't find the info. So I'll try to help from all the stuff I found.
Here's a site shows how to remove the headunit, speakers, CDM, and antenna. http://www.carstereohelp.com/strcadillac.htm
Here's the one for the wiring harness for Bose systems. http://www.installer.com/wires/
I'm attaching 2 pictures which makes one diagram.
If you don't get the wiring harness to by pass the bose system and the amps, you'll have to rewire the whole system. Meaning new headunit and new speakers all around.
I didn't use the by pass harness. I used the Battery, Ignition, and Ground for the CDM(reciever in the trunk) then wired them to 3 wires going to the orginal Bose headunit. I hooked those 3 wires up and the new aftermarket headunit worked. (It came on, worked, and retained memory of settings on the headunit after the car was turned off.)
Diagram is for a 1995 Seville.
Hope this helps everyone, if not someone.

RE: Cadillac Car Stereo / Audio Removal and Installation Instructions
When I posted this I was trying to aim at most Cadillac models, not just the Allante. The thread you post is for Allante and wouldn't help me at all in my case, 1992 Seville STS. (That's why it's in the Allante forum.) That's what the first link was trying to do, plus do headunit too.

Bose stereo probs
I have some questions similiar to those MMM1 posted. Here's the deal. I just purchased a 92 Eldorado. Everything is great except the seller states the radio does not work. THe time is displayed and if you turn it on (volume all the way down) you get the equivelant of sonic warfare (earth shattering high pitched whine). The seller states the radio went bad about 6 months ago. He purchased another Bose Gold Controller (I now know the actual receiver is in the trunk beind the backseat) and did not work either. I don't believe the 92 model had any anti-theft code lock (but could be wrong which is why I am here with the experts). I am thinking that the CDM might be the problem, not the head assembly. Any thoughts or experience. Also If I use the use the amp integrated harness to install an aftermarket receiver, will this disable the amps on the existing bose speakers? Thanks in advance for the help. I have been impressed with the posts I was able to access before becomng a member. Seems like a great group in this forum

What number or color wires did u connect together from both harnesses? Do u mean u spliced a wire in on each of the 3 to splice the stock radio to the cdm?
