when cabin gets hot, a/c goes into default

I have a 1995 Cadillac Sedan Deville. If I start it up when the interior of the car is hot (windows rolled up) the interior dash lights will not come on, the a/c goes into default mode (defroster) and it will blow hot air until the interior temperature cools off. Sometimes it takes about 1/2 hour of driving on freeway (windows down) to have the system reset. The a/c and dash lights function like nothing happened. I have only experienced this problem when the temps aproach 85 degrees. Any help would greatly be appreciated

i have the same problem. 93 Deville with the digital dash, but mine will also do this in the early morning cold. any advise is helpful-thx. Cadillacstyle

more than likely a faulty BCM or connection to it
