So i was out driving my car yesterday. its a 94 concours with about 148k on it. i think i was about 60 miles into the trip when i had to pull over from noticing there was some clear white smoke coming from the hood. when i pulled over i took the radiator cap off and the fluid exploded out! so i let the engine cool down filled her back up to get to my friends house.
when i got there we took a look under the hood and noticed that the fans weren't turning on. they weren't on when i got there, wouldnt turn on when i turned any of the heating or a/c in the car either.
we tried getting down to the plug on the far fan from the fuse. when he tried to see if there was power to it he said he got a green on one side, and nothing on the other. we didnt have a chance to supply power to the fan through the other side of the plug. the space between the motor and the fan was just perfect for choppin off arms...
also, im not gettin any codes other than p039 for my traction control slipping, so theres no help there... if anyone has any ideas or has ahd this happen to them before any help i can get would be helpful.
Oh yeah, one last thing. there seems to be a leak in the coolant system, but only intermittitantly. it comes out on the front part of the right side of the engine. it is leaking right above where it looks like both of the fan wires run together and back towards the firewall. dont know if this helps, but thought i'd throw it in there too.
thanks everyone

sounds like maybe a water pump leak, the water pump is located at the rear of the front bank being run off of one of your cams, as for the fans, unplugg your coolant temp sensor, if you fans dont kick on (default) then your pretty much looking at a fan relay or a possible wire break, id be warey, because animals love coolant, including squirrels, and if u have coolant dripping down your fan wires, thats like running up to a bear with fish strapped to your face.

Yeah, my friend said it may be the water pump too... its dripping on the right side looking at the engine. and its towards the front, but kinda in the middle still.
ok, so where is the temp sensor located at so i can give this a try? please tell me that its not by where the fans are cuz im really not tryin to lose an arm, the crazy animals would be the least of my problems then

Coolant temp sensor is located on end of rear head on drivers side. If your are losing coolant deal with that first.
