hi this is my first time on this forum.... can anyone help me figure out why my transmission will not engage in any gear. i have a 1995 eldorado. i've had no problems with the transmission before this, i check the fluid and it is fine... about six months ago my car was moved by con ed whille they were working on my block and the gear shifter has been messed up ever since, it doest lock into place... could this be related or does it sound like the shift linkage

Does shifter feel like it's moving anything? What was it like prior to now?

Look under hood, cable attaches to lever on trans in the area beneath master cylinder. If it is connected, you will need to look where cable attaches to shifter.

ok i just checked under the hood and everything seems fine. i found the lever you said and i had someone in the car shifting through gears and the lever was moving.... should i still check in the console, or does sound like everything is connected..... Also i checked the trouble codes and the only current one is p024, if that helps.

I have a 1996 Deville that just started the same thing. Nothing in any gear. But I get Code 1810. Was fine no indication of anything just nothing in any gear. No noise nada! Let me know if you come up with an answere.

Wow! Maybe We are the only two people in the world to have this problem. I tried a couple of pay sites but they were no help, lots of it could be this or that. If anyone knows please let us know too.
Thanks
