I've put off this oil-leak project a long time, but now I'm going after it.  I'm fairly certain all the components can be gotten to from the RH wheel-well.  I'm uncertain about what gaskets I'll need to replace, other than the Timing-cover gasket?  Can the oil-pan gasket be changed without pulling the engine?  I first intend to degrease the area, check for loose fasterers and then flour-spray the area.  If, after that, a leak shows, I'll dig into it further.  Hopefully I won't find the dreaded cam-shaft block-split problem.  Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Hello....thanks for the response.  1987 Coupe DeVille/FWD/4.1L
Since I posted this, I know more. Cleaned the engine and found no leaking from the TC cover area or from the oil-filter adapter.  The leak is from the rear-main area.  Unfortunately fixin'' this requires removing the transaxle.  No experience with that and it''s kinda intimidating not knowing.....

Yeah doing a rear main on a FWD vehicle can be intimidating without proper equipment.

I will give you a few numbers for gasket sets from Fel-pro if you find more leaks.

Rear main seal - #BS40396 (one piece)
Timing cover set - #TCS45522-2
Oil pan - #OS30525T -> premium set
Oil Pan - #OS30525C -> general cork gasket set

If ya need any others let me know.
