I thought this problem was long gone but I just received an inquire on the matter.
This issue had to do with the MELT DOWN of the Tail Light arrays, specially on the 6 socket arrays ...

TAIL LIGHT ARRAY, BULBS & Sockets - The 1987 - 1988 have dual sockets, the 1989 is a transition year with either single or double sockets, the 1990 to 1993 have single sockets. The proper bulb is the 2057 with a BRASS base (the 1057 bulbs tend to damage the light arrays).
