The EC mirrors in 1993 Allantes were made by Donnelly, and have had a lot of failures which caused them to leak a horrible purple fluid all over the dashboard and carpet.
If one has any doubt about the integrity of this mirror at all, please take it out of the car as soon as you can. Donnelly will sell you a modern EC mirror that is a bolt in and won't ever leak (no fluid inside).
